Website content
I’ve worked with websites for years in a marketing capacity and therefore understand the importance of writing copy that is clear, to the point and at a length that suits the purpose of the page.  While it is true that shorter copy is more readable for users, longer copy in the form of product guides or white papers with lots of keywords can be used effectively for search engine optimisation.  I can write copy to order or am happy to work with a marketing team to come up with great web content that fits with the business’s goals.
Email copywriting
Marketing emails are effectively the love children of advertisements and web-pages. This makes them a unique and fun challenge for a copywriter.  It’s always important that your marketing emails reflect your brand and any current campaigns that are running. In fact, email is most effectively used as part of an integrated marketing campaign.

I can simply write the copy for your emails to your specification and style, or you can take things a step further and I can insert it straight into your html template.

Over the 7+ years I’ve worked in marketing I’ve written plenty of copy for adverts, direct mail and brochures. I work with my clients to produce copy that reflects the personality of their brand and sells their products effectively.
Usability
Testing the usability of a website is an important process that should be carried out regularly. This allows the site to evolve and grow with its users. If you don’t test your website, it could prove to be the difference between it succeeding and failing. A bad website reflects badly on the business as a whole.

While I don’t offer usability testing on a freelance basis, I am happy to give a free website appraisal to any business that would like to take the first steps down the usability track.  But be prepared – I’m not going to be nice to you just to get some business!
