News, feature articles and web content

I charge per word for articles and web content.  This cost also includes any research, interviewing and other costs involved with producing the piece.  My fee per word depends on the time I think the piece will take, the expected usage (for example if it is to be used on more than one site) and how the article is credited.

Copywriting

For copywriting I charge either by the hour or by the day depending on the size and scope of the job.  My fees are: £30 per hour or £250 per day for a one-off job.  For ongoing work or a longer project the fees are negotiable.

The final invoice amount may vary from the initial quote only if: either the job takes less time than estimated; or if the time allowed by the client to complete the job is less than the time needed to complete the job. For example, if you needed a job done that should take two days but you have a deadline of 9am the next morning, you would be charged for the two days, not by the hour.

I always ensure that all costs are out on the table and agreed at every stage of a job so there are no surprises on completion!
